Job summary

Turner & Townsend seeks a Structural Design Lead to guide design leadership for new and existing data centre builds in a client-facing role. The role emphasizes ensuring robust electrical and mechanical systems and developing design standards across projects.

The candidate will coordinate with owners, consultants, and contractors, manage external design partners, and drive energy-efficient, cost-effective solutions while maintaining schedule and budget discipline.

Qualifications

• College degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or related field.
• Experience on large-scale construction programs, data centre or mission-critical facilities preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MEP design and engineering leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide design leadership for electrical and mechanical systems across design and construction phases.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and Owner/Client, consultants, and contractors.
• Develop and maintain Basis of Design, design standards, and equipment specifications.
• Manage external design consultants to deliver MEP documents on schedule and within budget.
• Communicate design standards to internal and external partners and enforce policies.
• Lead multiple fast-paced projects and identify cost-saving, energy-efficient solutions.
