Job summary

SE&M Constructors, Inc. is seeking a skilled BIM/VDC Coordinator to oversee BIM and VDC processes for assigned MEP projects, ensuring seamless design integration across disciplines.

The role requires hands-on Revit and coordination experience to develop federated models and perform constructability reviews. Responsibilities include clash detection with Navisworks, producing 3D models and construction documents, coordinating layout of mechanical systems, and supporting field teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of hands-on Revit and BIM/VDC coordination experience in MEP for industrial, pharmaceutical, or heavy commercial projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee BIM and VDC processes for assigned MEP projects, ensuring seamless design integration across disciplines.
• Develop and coordinate federated BIM models for multi-trade coordination and constructability reviews.
• Perform clash detection using Navisworks and other tools; document and resolve conflicts before construction.
• Produce accurate 3D models, shop drawings, fabrication details, and construction documents per contract and SE&M standards.
• Coordinate layout of mechanical piping, ductwork, and plumbing systems; assist PMs and superintendents with layout and ongoing model support.
• Manage shop drawing and model production to support self-perform work; maintain as-built documentation.
• Maintain proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, ACC, Sysque, Plant 3D, and BIM content workflows; apply best practices.
• Keep BIM Manager informed on status, progress, and resource needs; support planning.
• Collaborate with project teams, clients, designers, subcontractors, and vendors to solve design challenges.
• Ensure BIM deliverables meet codes (NC Mechanical & Plumbing) and standards; support QA with model reviews.
• Support BIM execution plans, schedules, and department standards.
• Occasional site visits for model verification and BIM support.
