Job summary

SE&M Constructors, LLC is seeking a BIM/VDC Coordinator to lead BIM and VDC coordination for mechanical, plumbing, and related MEP projects. You will develop federated models, perform clash detection, and produce construction documents aligned with contract requirements.

The role requires hands-on Revit and BIM/VDC coordination experience in MEP on industrial or heavy commercial projects, with strong communication and leadership skills to drive cross-discipline collaboration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on Revit and BIM/VDC coordination in MEP on industrial, pharmaceutical, or heavy commercial projects.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience coordinating across architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and special systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee BIM and VDC processes for assigned MEP projects to ensure seamless design integration.
• Coordinate federated BIM models for multi-trade coordination and clash detection.
• Perform comprehensive clash detection using Navisworks and other tools; document and facilitate resolution of conflicts.
• Produce accurate 3D models, shop drawings, fabrication details, and as-built documentation from BIM models.
• Coordinate layout and design of mechanical piping, ductwork, and plumbing systems; assist project managers with pre-construction layout.
• Manage shop drawing and model production in support of self-performance; maintain BIM content and standards.
• Maintain expert proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, ACC, Sysque, Plant 3D; apply best practices for content creation and procedures.
• Keep BIM Manager informed of status, resources, and issues for effective planning.
• Collaborate with project teams, clients, and vendors to resolve design challenges and drive project delivery.
• Ensure BIM deliverables meet codes (NC Mechanical & Plumbing Codes) and quality standards.
