Qualifications

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Six months of clerical, office, customer service, or related administrative experience or education
  • Education alternatives that meet entry requirements (high school diploma)
  • Grandfathering provisions may apply for current VA employees in this occupation
  • Knowledge of CFRs, VHA directives, and veteran benefits is preferred
  • Ability to use multiple patient systems and coordinate with care teams

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced administrative support in a VA clinic setting
  • Coordinate clinic appointment availability and scheduling across multiple clinics
  • Assist in managing patient communications and secure messaging
  • Train or supervise staff as needed and allocate workload
  • Ensure accuracy of patient information and readiness for visits/procedures
