Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist II (non-CA) to oversee day-to-day operations of an assigned shift in the analytical core laboratory, including transfusion services, ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will apply advanced technical knowledge, liaise with other departments, and assist in process improvements, with duties possibly including phlebotomy and specimen management in a self-directed environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory, chemical or biological science.
• Two years of relevant laboratory work experience.
• MLS with ASCP certification, MT with ASCP/AMT, or specialty ASCP certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs and reports waived, moderately complex, and highly complex test procedures on patient specimens.
• Provides patient care through clinical correlation of results and rapid notification of critical values.
• Performs calibration and quality control procedures and maintains records.
• Maintains major automated equipment and troubleshoots issues; contacts vendor for assistance or repair.
• Assists in preparation of QC and calibration reports with complete records.
• Represents CommonSpirit Health with professionalism and kindness in interactions.
