UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced laboratory leader to coordinate the work of staff in the chemistry lab. The role combines hands-on testing with supervisory responsibilities to ensure accurate, timely results and adherence to quality standards.

Key duties include interviewing candidates, scheduling benches and shifts, mentoring Medical Technologists and Technicians, and guiding complex assays.

Qualificações

• Bachelor7s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.

Responsabilidades

• Interviews prospective candidates for positions in the laboratory and makes recommendation to Manager.
• Schedules employees for various lab benches and shifts; reviews all work performed in area to ensure completeness and quality and takes corrective action as necessary.
• Discusses performance issues with employees and recommends disciplinary action to Manager.
• Instructs technicians and technologists in the set-up and operation of new equipment and procedures.
• Maintains accurate records of tests performed, using computer-based systems.
