Job summary

UMass Memorial Health coordinates the work of others in a medical laboratory setting, performing and interpreting chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to aid in diagnosis and treatment. The position requires independence and leadership to guide staff and ensure quality across the assigned area.

This full-time evening shift (3pm–11:30pm) offers a 40-hour work week, with salary range based on hours and experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the specified lab science field.
• Five years of related experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
• ASCP certification preferred for Medical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Interviews candidates for lab positions and makes recommendations.
• Schedules staff and reviews area work for quality and completeness.
• Guides performance issues and disciplinary actions with management.
• Performs and interprets complex tests and ensures quality control.
• Maintains records and participates in equipment maintenance and rollout.
