Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Marlborough, MA seeks a Lead Medical Technologist to supervise core lab operations, including Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Central Processing. A Bachelor's in Medical Technology and ASCP MT certification (preferred) with at least five years of leadership experience are required.

You will interview candidates, schedule shifts, ensure quality and safety, and mentor staff while maintaining accurate records and complying with lab policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or equivalent
• Five years of related experience with demonstrated leadership skills
• ASCP MT certification is preferred

Responsibilities

• Interviews prospective candidates for positions in the laboratory and makes recommendations to Manager.
• Evaluates new hires performance and conducts performance reviews.
• Schedules employees for various lab benches and shifts; ensures quality and takes corrective action.
• Develops new test and quality procedures for assigned area.
• Ensures compliance with laboratory quality and safety policies.
