Job summary

Alphatec Spine, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance software for a surgical navigation and robotics platform. The role entails designing, coding, testing, and documenting software in a Linux environment, interfacing with mechanical, electrical and clinical teams, and contributing to regulatory reviews.

You will participate in design decisions, implement high quality application software, and support field deployments. Travel up to 15% may be required.

Qualifications

Medical device software development experience preferred.
Experience with IEC 62304 and regulatory considerations.
Experience with surgical navigation is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with evolving codebase decisions and tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

Design and implement high quality Unix/Linux applications and frameworks.
Develop C++ software and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Support evaluation, feature prioritization, and product definition.
Perform integration and system level testing of software/hardware systems.
Create design artifacts, test plans and documentation for projects.
Estimate tasks and manage multiple projects and priorities.
Attend surgical cases and interact with surgeons to stay aligned.
