The role requires four years of professional fee coding experience, AAPC or AHIMA certification, and strong proficiency with MS Office tools.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of four (4) years professional fee coding job experience.
• Ability to code multiple specialties as a SME with sustained accuracy and productivity.
• Ability to research coding questions and present to team.
• Associates or bachelor’s in health information preferred, but not required.
• Must be a certified coder through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, COC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA).
• Knowledge of ICD, CPT, HCPCS, Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Necessity, Modifiers, and Denials.
• Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Aufgaben

• Assign ICD-10 CM and CPT codes with modifiers for services in the facility environment.
• Research all aspects of coding, compliance, documentation, and reimbursement for assigned clients.
• Review medical records to determine appropriate codes for services and diagnoses.
• Ensure diagnosis codes meet local and national medical necessity guidelines.
• Use coding resources and reference material to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain client worksheets and deliverables; accurate time records.
• Monitor potential compliance concerns and communicate with leadership.
• Use facility encoder interfacing with EMR in remote settings.
