Ensemble Health Partners is seeking a Remote Medical Coding Specialist with 1 year of coding experience to accurately assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and CPT codes for outpatient visits using 3M and other tools. The role emphasizes compliance with AHIMA and CMS guidelines, with opportunities for certification and ongoing education.

The successful candidate will review documentation, ensure accuracy, and support federal coding standards while collaborating with a nationwide client base.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of coding experience preferred.
• AAPC or AHIMA coding certification: CPC-A, CPC, CCA or CCS.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medical record documentation and assigns ICD-9-CM, ICD-10, CPT IV, and HCPCS codes using 3M tools for all OP work types.
• Abstracts required data per facility specs.
• Performs medical necessity checks for Medicare and other payers as required.
• Monitors accounts like Discharged Not Final Billed and failed claims for timely processing.
• Maintains productivity and quality standards for coding.
• Stays updated on CMS requirements and local coverage determinations.
• Maintains competency with coding tools (3M encoder, CAC, CAC software).
• Attends system and department meetings and completes annual learning programs.
