Job summary

Coding Strategies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Coding Specialist for a remote US-based position. The ideal candidate has a multispecialty background including surgery, Interventional Radiology and E/M, and a proven track record in professional fee coding.

You will abstract and code from medical records, using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS, while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery of client deliverables. Strong writing and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of four (4) years professional fee coding experience.
Ability to code multiple specialties as SME with sustained accuracy.
Ability to research coding questions and present to team.
Must be a certified coder through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, COC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA).
Knowledge of ICD, CPT, HCPCS, anatomy, physiology, medical necessity, modifiers and denials.
Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes with modifiers for services provided.
Research coding, compliance, documentation and reimbursement for assigned clients.
Review records to determine appropriate codes for services and diagnoses.
Ensure diagnosis codes meet local and national medical necessity guidelines.
Use coding resources to ensure accuracy for all services.
Maintain client worksheets and deliverables with accurate records.
