CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Senior Coder to translate patient records into standardized codes for diagnoses and treatments, ensuring accurate documentation and timely billing. You will work within established guidelines and collaborate with providers to support clean claims.

The role emphasizes coding accuracy, compliance with healthcare regulations, and continuous professional development while maintaining strict patient confidentiality in a large, nationwide health system.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Completion of a CAHIIM approved AHIMA/AAPC accredited coding education and 3 years coding experience (inpatient, outpatient, professional fee, or outpatient physician clinics) using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and/or ICD-10-PCS.
• Certified Professional Coder and other coding credentials are required.

Responsabilités

• Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to outpatient records and encounters with expert accuracy.
• Ensure coding decisions follow official guidelines, payer requirements, and coding ethics.
• Review documentation for completeness and initiate physician queries to clarify ambiguities.
• Prioritize work queues to meet productivity and turnaround targets while maintaining quality.
