Job summary

Senior Medical Coder with UnitedHealth Group is a remote nationwide role focusing on accurate CPT and E/M coding for maximum reimbursement and minimal denials. You will support charge review, claim edits, and denials while maintaining revenue cycle integrity.

The position requires a CPC/CPC-H or RHIT/RHIA/CCS/ CCS-P certification, 3+ years of Pro-Fee coding experience, and strong CPT/ICD-10-CM knowledge. Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AAPC or AHIMA coding certification (CPC, CPC-H, CPC-P, RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, etc.).
• 3+ years of Pro-Fee coding experience including multiple specialties.
• Advanced CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS knowledge and coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Apply medical coding knowledge to assign appropriate CPT and E/M codes.
• Interpret clinical documentation using anatomy and physiology knowledge.
• Generate queries when documentation is unclear.
• Query providers and follow up for timely responses.
• Identify and resolve coding edits and denials to support revenue integrity.
