Corewell Health is seeking an inpatient/outpatient senior coder to review records and assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT codes using 3M software, while abstracting data from the Epic EMR per established guidelines.

The role collaborates with leadership and clinical teams to ensure DRG/APR-DRG accuracy and supports process improvements, education, and remote work readiness. Site: Grand Rapids; full-time, days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s Degree in Health Information Technology/Management.
• 2 years of relevant experience Coding.
• CRT-Coding Specialist (CCS) AHIMA upon hire.
• CRT-RHIT AHIMA within 180 days.
• CRT-RHIA AHIMA within 180 days.

Responsabilités

• Meet monthly productivity standard ≥100%.
• Meet biannual quality standard ≥95%.
• Remote work environment with EMR and encoder.
• Code inpatient or outpatient records per guidelines (ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM/PCS; CPT-4).
• Provide coding education to clinical/non-clinical staff.
• Collaborate with leadership and teams to ensure DRG/APR-DRG accuracy.
• Participate in process improvements and ensure appropriately coded accounts.
• Attend all required staff meetings.
