Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent with 3 years of medical coder experience.
• AHIMA/CPC/CCS/CMC credentials preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review codes created by electronic charge capture and assign codes (ICD-10-CM, E/M, CPT, HCPCS).
• Abstract data and review codes for accuracy; perform system edit checks.
• Resolve coding denials and provide feedback for correction and follow-up.
• Respond to coding information requests from internal/external sources.
• Consult with internal customers and vendors for documentation clarity.
