Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred and AHIMA/AAPC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advanced coder performing abstraction and analysis of medical documentation.
• Assigns procedural terminology and medical codes per coding rules.
• Reviewing and resolving coding denials and errors.
• Abstracting data and reviewing codes for accuracy.
• May supervise lower level coding staff or handle multi-specialty coding.
• Responding to coding information requests from internal/external sources.
