Job summary

UVA Health in Charlottesville is seeking a Medical Assistant to assist RNs and clinical staff with vital signs, medication review, and administrative tasks. You will support Epic In Baskets, prior authorizations, and procedures, while collecting data and coordinating patient care.

Under supervision, you will organize activities, implement age-appropriate interventions, and contribute to teaching plans. Requirements include a High School Diploma, 3 years of clinical experience, and AHA BLS

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years clinical experience.
• AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification from a national professional assoc. such as AAMA/AMT/NAHP/ARMA/NHA.
• EMT or Paramedic credential required if applicable by Virginia health dept.
• Physical ability to lift/push/pull 20–50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN/Provider with vital signs, med review, and medication refills.
• Retrieve medical records and assist with Epic In Baskets and prior authorizations.
• Support clinic operations and assist with procedures.
• Organize and prioritize patient care activities and data collection.
• Contribute to patient/family teaching plans and safe care delivery.
• Provide administrative support and teamwork in patient care.
