Job summary

University of Virginia (UVA Health) is seeking a Medical Assistant to support RN-led patient care in a fast-paced clinic. You will perform vital signs, medication review, refills, and administrative tasks, and assist with prior authorizations and Epic in-baskets under supervision.

Responsibilities include data collection across age groups, patient education planning, safe care delivery, and teamwork to ensure efficient clinic operations. Certification and ongoing development are encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3 years clinical experience preferred.
• AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with clinical tasks and administrative duties as needed.
• Support clinic operations and communication with team, providers, and patients.
• Manage patient data collection and assist with procedures as directed by RN/Provider.
• Ensure safe environment and accurate delivery of care.
• Provide patient/family teaching and assist with time-sensitive issues.
