Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant to support our physicians in the Memphis, TN clinic. You will assist with a range of clinical and administrative tasks, including taking X-rays and supporting exam room activities. Ideal candidates have podiatry or orthopedic experience and strong EMR skills.

The role requires flexible problem-solving, collaboration, and a focus on high-quality patient care. Travel to surrounding clinics may be required; regular weekday hours are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience as Medical Assistant in podiatry or orthopedic clinic is preferred.
• Experience taking X-rays is a plus.
• Proficiency with Athenahealth EMR and strong medical terminology knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients and team.
• Experience in care coordination or case management is ideal.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to surrounding clinics if needed.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for the physician visit.
• Complete intake documentation including medical, social, surgical history and HPI.
• Record vitals and document in EMR.
• Assist the podiatric physician and perform X-rays as required.
• Restock exam rooms and maintain cleanliness of clinical area.
• Sterilize exam and X-ray rooms and equipment after each patient.
• Coordinate care for Upperline Plus patients and manage referrals.
• Engage in telephonic outreach and preventive care coordination.
• Travel to nearby clinics to provide clinical support as needed.
• Handle other duties as assigned by Upperline Health.
