Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking a driven Medical Assistant to support physicians in delivering complex clinical services in our Cahaba, AL clinic. You will assist with a range of clinical and administrative tasks and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Ideal candidates have podiatry or orthopedic exposure, X-ray experience, and strong EMR skills. The role requires excellent communication, teamwork, and a patient-centered approach within a value-based care

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant; MA Certification is a plus
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred
• X-ray experience is a plus
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience is ideal
• Geriatric patient experience preferred
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience with EMR systems such as Athenahealth
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Background check and drug test required

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms, ready for physician
• Complete exam intake, reviewing medical history and social history
• Conduct health assessments and visits for Upperline Plus patients in Podiatry Clinics
• Telephonic outreach to coordinate preventive care
• Care coordination tasks: records requests, order management, scheduling, referrals
• Ensure accurate charting for the physician
• Take and develop x-rays and assist in exam room
• Stock exam rooms and dispose of trash
• Clean and sterilize exam and x-ray rooms daily
• Identify community resources for patients and families
• Travel to surrounding clinics to provide support
• Support extended care team when needed
