Job summary

Upperline Health is actively seeking an energetic Medical Assistant to support physicians in a busy clinic in Dayton, OH. You will handle clinical and administrative tasks, assist with X-rays, and contribute to coordinated care across Upperline Health programs.

The role emphasizes a patient-centered, interdisciplinary team approach with weekday clinic hours in a fast-paced environment focused on wound, vascular and lower-extremity care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred.
• X-ray experience is a plus.
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience is ideal.
• Experience with geriatric patients preferred.
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with athenahealth EMR is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms; ensure they are ready and comfortable for the physician visit.
• Complete exam intake by reviewing medical, social and surgical histories.
• Record vitals and documentation in the EMR (athenahealth).
• Provide patient care under the direction of a podiatric physician, including taking x-rays.
• Perform daily administrative tasks such as restocking exam rooms and disposing of trash.
• Clean and sterilize exam and x-ray rooms after each patient and daily.
• Conduct health assessments and visits with Upperline Plus patients.
• Telephonic outreach and engagement with Upperline Plus patients for preventative care.
• Coordinate care activities: medical records, order management, scheduling, referrals, etc.
• Travel to surrounding area clinics to provide support if needed.
• Other related duties as deemed by Upperline Health.
