Job summary

IU Health in Fishers, IN is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant (MA) to join a busy infusion clinic. This full-time daytime role supports patient intake, vital signs, specimen collection, and front-office tasks while collaborating with nurses to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Applicants should have a Medical Assistant program credential and relevant certifications (CMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC) with knowledge of ICD-10, CPT coding, OSHA/CLIA, and laboratory procedures. AHA BLS is typically required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from a Medical Assistant program required.
• CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or CMAC certification may be required.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding required.
• BLS certification required; other life support certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for appointments.
• Obtain and document vital signs and patient information.
• Provide general Medical Assistant clinical support duties.
• Complete patient intake processes and gather clinical information.
• Draw and process laboratory specimens.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to support patient care and clinic operations.
• Monitor and respond to patient needs during visits.
• Precept MA team members or externs as requested by leadership.
