Job summary

Indiana University Health in Indianapolis seeks a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care and clinical workflows. You will assist with patient prep, data collection, and front-office duties in a dynamic clinic setting.

The role requires CMA/CCMA/RMA/NCMA/CMAC/NHA certification or equivalent and a strong understanding of OSHA/CLIA. Training staff and adapting to changing priorities are key parts of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from a Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current certification in medical assisting from CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC/NHA or equivalent.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• TB validation or within 6 months of hire preferred.
• Familiarity with Meaningful Use and Standard Work Programs.
• Ability to perform general front office functions and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for appointments.
• Collect and document patient information and clinical data.
• Assist with implementing and supporting new workflows and processes.
• Educate and train staff on new procedures as needed.
• Provide support across clinical and operational tasks.
• Adapt to changing priorities and assignments by department needs.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with varying responsibilities.
