Job summary

IU Health in Indianapolis is seeking compassionate Medical Assistants to support patients and providers in outpatient clinics across the area. This full-time MA role involves welcoming patients, taking vital signs, documenting in the EMR, and assisting providers during exams.

Shifts are days, with 40 hours per week and location-based scheduling. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, an accredited MA program, CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Current CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC certification is required and BLS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for appointments.
• Take vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse).
• Document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Assist providers during exams and procedures.
• Perform blood draws and basic laboratory testing.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up care.
• Communicate test results and instructions to patients.
• Support clinic operations and patient flow.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and families.
