Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced setting in Charlotte, NC. You will interview patients, record medical information, measure vital signs, and update health maintenance while ensuring accurate allergy and medication data.

The role requires CMA or RMA certification, BLS, and the ability to perform CLIA-waived tests and Point of Care procedures under standing orders. Strong teamwork and leadership duties are included.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
• Must maintain current certification.
• Certified CMA or RMA by one of the national organizations (AAMA, NHA, NHCWA, NCCT, ARMA, AMT, NAHP, NRMA).

• Conduct Point of Care testing per standing orders and maintain in-office lab procedures.
• Develop and implement patient treatment plans.
• Lead lower-level staff with direction and training.
• Collect and log blood, tissue, or lab specimens.
• Track tests and present results to the care team.
• Function as an EMR super user.
• Complete annual in-service and unit-based projects.
