Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant at Carolinas Medical Center - Surgical Services to support patient care in a fast-paced setting in Charlotte, NC. The role involves rooming, history taking, vital signs, specimen collection and assisting providers with procedures.

You will perform CLIA-waived lab tests, administer vaccines, coordinate referrals, and manage patient messaging while maintaining a clean, compliant work environment.

Qualifications

• Must have routine and complex clinical skills within Medical Assistant scope.
• Excellent communication with patients, families and staff.
• Proficient in electronic medical records and basic computer tasks.
• Demonstrated customer service supporting a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients: vitals, history, medications reconciliation and screenings.
• Assist provider with procedures and patient care tasks as ordered.
• Perform lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT under orders.
• Administer medications and vaccines following safety rules.
• Handle referrals, scheduling, authorizations and patient messaging.
