Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Senior Medical Assistant Certified (Sr. MA) to provide high-quality patient care support alongside physicians and nurses, performing advanced examinations, procedures, and delegated MA tasks under supervision. The role also serves as a preceptor and clinical resource, guiding Medical Assistants and ensuring compliance with standards.

On-site in Houston, the Sr. MA will schedule appointments, verify eligibility, assist with diagnostics, and maintain accurate records

Qualifications

• Five years medical assistant experience with highly complex, chronic disease management or in a specialty discipline.
• Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, NHA or Registered Medical Assistant or EMT and
• BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, treatments and dressing changes.
• Schedule patient appointments and verify eligibility for care.
• Preceptor and clinical resource to Medical Assistants, training others as appropriate.
• Perform pre-visit planning and care coordination with the provider team.
