Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Senior Medical Assistant Certified (Sr. MA) to provide expert clinical support for assigned patient populations under the supervision of a Physician or Registered Nurse. The role includes assisting with examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, dressing changes, and delegated medical assistant tasks while ensuring CLIA and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Five years medical assistant experience with highly complex, chronic disease management or in a specialty discipline.
• Certified Medical Assistant and BLS certification required.
• High School diploma or equivalent education required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and precept Medical Assistants, mentoring peers.
• Collaborate with interprofessional care teams, sharing patient data.
• Provide direct patient care under physician/RN supervision.
• Perform EKGs, rapid strep, urinalysis, and routine diagnostics.
• Document in EMR and maintain accurate medical records.
