Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is looking for an experienced Tooling Design Engineer to support aerospace manufacturing tooling for the Blue Engines, Lunar, and New Glenn programs. You will design production tooling, fixtures and machinery, applying CAD tools, FEM analysis, and ASME drafting standards to enable robust assemblies.

Responsibilities include project management, collaboration with engineers and suppliers, and delivering cradle-to-grave tooling solutions on a fast-paced schedule.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years designing tooling, fixtures or fixtures for manufacturing.
• Experience with FEM and structural analysis; hand calculations possible.
• Proficient CAD design and drafting; GD&T and tolerance stack-up understood.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Design production, development, test, integration tooling for aerospace units.
• Integrate mechanical design principles across multiple projects fast-paced.
• Interpret and apply ASME Y14.5 drafting standards for drawings.
• Solve diverse tooling challenges including fixtures, material handlers, rotisseries.
• Collaborate with designers, manufacturing and integration engineers for cradle-to-grave metrics.
• Manage projects from vendor selection to installation, testing and commissioning.
