Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a hands-on Technician to build and operate complex test infrastructure and support development milestones. You will execute integration activities, maintain safety and reliability, and work with engineers to improve test stands in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation skills, with a strong emphasis on safety and cross-functional collaboration. Relocation and shift flexibility may be offered.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years in industrial facilities, test operations, aerospace/aviation maintenance, petrochemical, power generation, or similar high-consequence environments.
  • OR 2+ years with technical trade school or associate degree in related field.
  • Experience with fluid/pneumatic or propellant-like systems and basic troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with common mechanical tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Comfort working around heavy equipment and high-energy systems.
  • Commitment to safety in high-pressure, cryogenic, and hazardous environments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate test facility systems (pneumatic, hydraulic, propellant distribution) per procedures.
  • Perform preventive/corrective maintenance on valves, piping, pumps, regulators, actuators.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair facility components to maintain readiness.
  • Update maintenance records and configuration documentation.
  • Assist with installation and removal of test articles and fixtures.
  • Support mechanical, fluid, and electrical connections between test articles and facilities.
  • Participate in test readiness activities including leak and functional checks.
  • Collaborate with engineers on design changes and improvements to stands.
