Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Technician for our Engines program at Van Horn, TX. You will operate test facility systems, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, inspect components, and support installation, alignment, and test readiness in a fast-paced, safety‑critical environment.

You will collaborate with engineers, document maintenance logs, read engineering drawings, and participate in hazard assessments while adhering to lockout/tagout, high‑pressure and cryogenic safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school/associate degree preferred.
• 3+ years in industrial facilities, test ops, aerospace, or equivalent.
• Experience with fluid/pneumatic or propellant-like systems and basic troubleshooting.
• Proficient with mechanical tools; able to read engineering drawings and P&IDs.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working around heavy equipment.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate test facility systems (pneumatic, hydraulic, propellant) per procedures.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on valves, pumps, and sensors.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair facility components to maintain readiness.
• Update maintenance logs and documentation accurately and timely.
• Assist installation, alignment, and removal of test articles and fixtures.
• Support connections between test articles and facility systems.
• Participate in leak checks, functional tests, and pre-/post-test inspections.
• Collaborate with engineers to implement design changes and improvements.
• Read and interpret drawings, P&IDs, and work instructions.
• Follow safety procedures and lockout/tagout; support hazard assessments.
