Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced mechanical/electrical test engineer to join the Lunar Permanence program. The role focuses on mechanical and electromechanical testing, test planning, and data analysis to ensure safe, high‑quality spaceflight hardware.

You will develop test stands, fixtures, and test procedures, coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams, mentor others, and travel up to 25% while contributing to a culture of safety and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on hardware testing experience.
• Proven ability to develop test stands and fixtures.
• Mechanical design experience using CAD tools.
• Experience with test plans and procedures for complex systems.
• Familiarity with motion control architectures and motor drives.
• Experience with data acquisition systems and instrumentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication; cross-functional teamwork.
• U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible status.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute mechanical and electromechanical test activities.
• Identify test needs, equipment, and test events.
• Develop and review Test Plans, Procedures, and safety assessments.
• Design, procure, install test support equipment; manage vendors.
• Track risks, schedule, and cost in test campaigns.
• Mentor teammates and coordinate test crews.
