Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, is seeking a Principal Design Engineer – Mechanical Systems to lead design execution within the MSEN team. You will coordinate cross-functional activities, manage design risks, and deliver high‑quality engineering solutions for bearings, seals, castings, and machined components.

You will mentor engineers, drive medium‑scale projects, and collaborate with CIPT/IPMT, while supporting engine builds and teardowns across global sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 8 years experience; or advanced degree with 5 years experience in mechanical design engineering.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan, and execute tasks with full cross-functional integration.
• Execute with urgency to disposition customer fleet issues.
• Provide consultation to ESTO in resolving manufacturing & assembly issues.
• Mentor and coach engineers, influencing medium tasks and resource planning.
• Contribute to Engineering Knowledge System content, including updates to tools and standards.
• Support engine builds and teardowns and Engine Centers and MRO sites.
• Travel up to 20% (Domestic and International).
