Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a RTX company, seeks a Design Engineering Manager to lead a team of design engineers within the Compression Systems Engineering group. You will oversee design through preliminary and detailed stages, validation, certification, and manufacturing support for fan and compressor modules across military and commercial engines.

Responsibilities include setting priorities, mentoring staff, coordinating with multi-discipline teams, and ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 8 years of design engineering experience or 5 years with an advanced engineering degree.
• Experience with CAD solid modeling (UG NX) and other modeling and analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design engineering team to meet program demands while upholding safety and quality standards.
• Balance durability, performance, cost, and weight with multi-discipline teams.
• Identify and manage risks; resolve technical problems.
• Coach, train, and develop design engineers; manage recruitment and performance.
• Develop functional expertise to meet current and future business needs.
• Regularly evaluate staffing and resource plans with CIPT Leadership.
