Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to lead field operations on complex commercial construction projects. This hands-on role requires directing foremen, crews, and trade partners to deliver projects safely, on time, and to VMG’s standards.

You will coordinate HVAC, plumbing, piping, and MEP systems, review drawings and specs, and work with BIM/VDC teams to resolve coordination issues. Travel to project locations is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial mechanical construction experience with field leadership or supervisory responsibility.
• Strong experience with commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and MEP systems.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, coordination drawings, and construction documents.
• Experience coordinating with General Contractors, Project Managers, subcontractors, and other trades.
• Strong understanding of construction safety, quality control, and applicable codes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day mechanical construction activities from project startup through completion.
• Lead Foremen, field crews, subcontractors, and trade partners.
• Plan manpower, equipment, materials, and resources to meet project schedules and production goals.
• Coordinate HVAC, plumbing, piping, and other mechanical scopes with surrounding trades.
• Monitor field productivity and ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Identify field challenges early and develop effective solutions.
• Maintain a strong field presence and provide clear direction to project teams.
