Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking a seasoned Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial mechanical projects in Reston, Virginia. The role focuses on directing field crews, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring projects meet safety, quality, and schedule targets.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of supervising commercial construction, experience with HVAC, plumbing, mechanical or MEP systems, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years supervising commercial construction projects.
• Experience with HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, or related mechanical systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day jobsite operations from project startup through closeout.
• Lead and coordinate field crews, Foremen, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, sequencing, and manpower plans.
• Monitor field productivity and ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
• Coordinate work with Project Managers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades.
• Participate in project meetings with clients, general contractors, engineers, and project partners.
• Identify field challenges early and develop solutions to keep projects moving.
