Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to lead field operations on complex commercial projects. You will coordinate mechanical crews, manage schedules, and ensure safe, high-quality installations in line with VMG standards.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of commercial mechanical construction leadership, a strong grasp of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and MEP coordination, and the ability to read drawings and coordinate with multiple trades.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of commercial mechanical construction with field leadership
• Strong experience with HVAC, plumbing, piping, and MEP systems
• Experience as Mechanical Superintendent or similar field leadership role
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and coordination drawings
• Experience coordinating with general contractors, subs, and BIM/VDC teams
• Knowledge of safety, quality control, and codes; valid driver's license
• Willingness to travel to project locations as required

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day mechanical construction activities from startup to finish
• Lead foremen, field crews, subcontractors, and trade partners
• Plan manpower, equipment, materials, and resources to meet schedules
• Coordinate HVAC, plumbing, piping, and other mechanical scopes with trades
• Monitor productivity and ensure milestones are met
• Resolve field coordination and constructability issues with BIM/VDC
• Promote safety, quality, and documentation in the field
