Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial mechanical construction projects in the Washington, DC area. You will oversee crews, manage schedules, ensure safety, and coordinate with Project Managers and subcontractors to deliver high-quality work from startup to closeout.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of supervising commercial construction, HVAC/MEP experience, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supervising commercial construction projects.
• Commercial HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanical, or MEP experience preferred.
• Proficient reading of drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• OSHA 30 preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day jobsite operations from startup through closeout.
• Lead and coordinate field crews, foremen, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, sequencing, and manpower plans.
• Monitor field productivity and ensure milestones are met.
• Coordinate work with Project Managers, general contractors, engineers, and other trades.
• Complete daily reports, timesheets, job logs, schedules, and other required documentation.
• Maintain organized project records throughout construction and closeout.
