Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced project manager to oversee mechanical construction projects in the United States, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met. You will coordinate subcontractors, review submittals, and maintain strong communication with owners and field staff.

The role requires HVAC/piping knowledge, CM software experience, and a willingness to travel domestically. OSHA 30 certification is preferred or will be required after hiring.

Job description

• Plan, direct, and coordinate subcontractor work on site to meet construction schedules and quality standards
• Manage and coordinate mechanical construction projects from conception to completion
• Order materials and equipment, issue subcontracts, develop billings, manage RFIs and change orders, and prepare/review submittals
• Keep project team members fully informed of project information
• Maintain knowledge of contract/subcontract conditions, scope, and specifications
• Anticipate and resolve emerging issues
• Establish project cost-control centers for equipment, materials, labor, subcontracts, and miscellaneous costs
• Manage large jobs with minimal supervision
• Procure and manage subcontractors and equipment vendors
• Inspect jobsites for contract compliance, workmanship, and safety
• Ensure timely project completion and customer satisfaction
• Communicate with customers, building owners, subcontractors, and field support staff

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management or equivalent required
• Proven working experience in Construction Management or related field
• Knowledge of HVAC and piping systems, building products, construction details/design, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
• Familiarity with construction management software packages and strong computer skills
• Excellent time and project management skills
• Ability to work to deadlines, multitask, and manage changing priorities
• OSHA 30 certification is a plus and will be required upon hiring
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a construction environment with overhead reach and use step ladders, extension ladders, power tools, and hand tools
• Ability to travel domestically 40%+ and work outside normal hours/weekends as required
