Job description

Responsibilities
  • Manage Service Project Managers
  • Champion project safety and maintain a safe, secure work environment through safety meetings, incident investigations, and employee involvement
  • Oversee project execution through the full project life cycle
  • Lead planning and coordination across all trades to meet code and project requirements, budget, schedule, and quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal legal requirements and business ethics
  • Conduct and document operational project meetings
  • Negotiate and prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders and evaluate submittals
  • Set up projects and job costing systems with labor, material, other, and subcontract cost codes
  • Conduct monthly reports and cost reviews, identify deviations, and keep project leadership informed
  • Meet or exceed financial budgets and labor productivity goals
  • Drive cash flow through scheduling values, billing, payment collection, and subcontractor cash management
  • Coordinate lien waivers, state notifications, and tax documentation
  • Coordinate quality assurance of project detail drawings
  • Estimate change orders and submit them for approval
  • Attend jobsite meetings, schedule deliveries, document site activities, review labor reports, requisition tools and materials, track RFIs, assist with permitting and inspections, approve invoices, and prepare status reports and billings
  • Build and maintain customer relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and owners
  • Monitor risk management, contracts, notices to proceed, change orders, insurance certificates, and bonds
  • Develop field personnel including workers, foremen, and superintendents
  • Verify the quality, accuracy, delivery, and installation of fabrication and equipment
  • Finalize O&M and start-up manuals
  • Coordinate start-up and commissioning
  • Arrange final inspection certification
  • Complete punch lists and prepare as-built drawings
  • Prepare and send customer warranty letters
  • Conduct owner orientation as required
  • Collect payments and retainage, close project financials, and archive documentation
Requirements
  • 4 Year Degree in Construction Management or applicable fieldwork experience in Plumbing
  • Minimum 10+ year's verifiable Project Management experience working for a mechanical subcontractor in commercial HVAC and Plumbing
  • Verifiable experience working on various projects at a time, including university buildings
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
  • Ability to travel 0–5% of the time to job sites or office locations
  • Ability to climb stairs, remain stationary for prolonged periods, and perform repetitive wrist, hand, or finger motions
  • Ability to perform light work involving adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds
