Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking an experienced engineering leader to provide design guidance across HVAC, plumbing and related systems. You will attend project meetings as the design expert, ensuring engineering standards are maintained and teams are aligned with project goals.

The role includes managing conceptual design, performing complex calculations, and site inspections. You will lead a small group of engineers, focusing on staffing, coaching and performance development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• PE license is required.
• 12+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years of people management.
• Expert knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and related design engineering.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to engage all levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide design and engineering guidance on projects.
• Attend meetings as design expert and ensure standards are followed.
• Manage conceptual design and prepare complex preliminary layouts for estimating.
• Perform site inspections and resolve design issues during construction.
• Lead a small team of engineers including staffing, training and coaching.
