Amentum seeks a Mechanical Process Engineer to join our Advanced Solutions Group in Farmington Hills, MI, with potential placements in Tullahoma, TN or Greenville, SC. You will design high‑pressure cryogenic and pneumatic piping, high‑temperature steam systems, refrigeration, vacuum, and specialty HVAC systems, selecting components and creating drawings.

Qualificações

• US citizenship required for government requirements.
• ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
• 5+ years engineering or 2–3 years with MS in engineering.
• Ability to work in a multi-discipline team environment.
• Knowledge of process piping systems.
• Strong mechanical and process engineering analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience managing project scope, schedules, and budgets.
• Design experience with process drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.1/B31.3 and ASME B&PV Code.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and thermal sciences.

Responsabilidades

• Design process and mechanical systems including cryogenic piping, high-temperature steam systems, refrigeration, vacuum, and HVAC components.
• Size and specify piping/ducting and select compressors, pumps, fans, valves, and related equipment.
• Create engineering calculations and specifications and oversee drawings.
• Gather information, interview stakeholders, conduct studies and sketches as required.
• Analyze work features and ensure documentation and compliance.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering work under a Senior Engineer.
• Provide installation support and supervise interactions with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Collaborate with structural, machine design, controls/instrumentation, and fluid dynamics engineers.
• Lead project teams developing new process designs for automotive and aerospace facilities.
• Support project management with design efforts, budgets, and schedules.
• Develop technical reports and client-presentations; participate in design reviews.
• Contribute to proposal development and marketing activities.
