Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager - Mechanical to serve as the mechanical SME for our preconstruction teams across regions. You will lead development of conceptual budgets, validate scope and pricing, and guide procurement strategies on large projects.

Role emphasizes training, data-driven budgeting, market analysis, and vendor relationship management to improve early estimates and win pursuits. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical estimating, subcontracting, or mechanical preconstruction.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical systems, installation methods, and production rates across MEP scopes.
• Strong vendor market knowledge and established communication with vendors and subcontractors.
• Experience developing conceptual/schematic-level budgets for large or complex projects.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to organize historical cost data and benchmarks.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• Self-directed and comfortable as a department-wide resource.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the mechanical SME for Brasfield & Gorrie’s preconstruction teams across regions.
• Develop conceptual and schematic-level mechanical budgets to support pursuits and feasibility studies.
• Validate mechanical scope, pricing assumptions, and risk areas on large projects.
• Assist with procurement strategies, including trade packaging and bid leveling support.
• Advise on market conditions, production rates, vendor capabilities, and buyout strategy.
• Maintain relationships with mechanical trade partners and vendors for market intel.
• Develop and deliver internal training on mechanical systems, estimating practices, and budgeting.
• Capture and standardize historical cost data and benchmarking metrics to improve estimates.
• Participate in project and estimate reviews and risk assessment meetings as a mechanical advisor.
• Stay current on mechanical costs, systems, codes, technologies, and trends.
