Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager - Mechanical to act as the mechanical SME for our preconstruction teams across regions. The role focuses on conceptual budgeting, procurement strategy, and vendor relationship management to support large, high‑risk projects.

The candidate will develop budgets, validate scopes and pricing, and share best practices through training and mentoring of the broader preconstruction group. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical estimating, subcontracting, or mechanical preconstruction.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical systems, installation methods, and production rates across mechanical & plumbing scopes.
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical vendor and subcontractor markets with established relationships.
• Experience developing conceptual/schematic-level budgets for large or complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the internal mechanical SME for preconstruction across regions.
• Develop conceptual and schematic-level mechanical budgets for early pursuits.
• Validate mechanical scope, pricing assumptions, and risk areas on projects.
• Refine procurement strategies including trade packaging and early release packages.
• Advise on market conditions, production rates, vendor capabilities, and buyout strategy.
• Maintain relationships with mechanical trade partners and vendors.
• Lead internal training on mechanical systems and budgeting practices.
• Capture and standardize historical cost data and benchmarking metrics.
• Participate in project and estimate reviews as a mechanical advisor.
• Stay current on mechanical costs, codes, technologies, and market trends.
