Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager - Mechanical to act as the mechanical subject-matter expert across regions. You will provide budgeting guidance, procurement strategy, vendor relationship knowledge, and training to the preconstruction team on diverse projects.

The role focuses on developing conceptual budgets, validating pricing, and improving bid strategies while staying current on market trends and mechanical costs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in mechanical estimating/preconstruction, ideally with a mechanical subcontractor or vendor.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical systems, installation methods, and production rates across M&P scopes.
• Strong vendor/supplier networks and clear communication with vendors.
• Experience developing conceptual/schematic budgets for large or complex projects.
• Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Serve as mechanical SME for preconstruction across regions to support pursuits and projects.
• Develop conceptual and schematic mechanical budgets to back early pursuit strategy.
• Validate scope, pricing, and risk with lead preconstruction managers on complex projects.
• Refine procurement strategies including trade packaging and early releases.
• Advise on market conditions, production rates, and buyout strategy.
• Maintain relationships with mechanical trade partners and vendors for market intelligence.
• Deliver internal training on mechanical systems, estimating practices, and budgeting.
• Track historical cost data and benchmarking metrics to improve estimates.
• Participate in project and risk reviews as a mechanical advisor.
• Stay current on mechanical costs, codes, technologies, and market trends.
• Travel may be required depending on project/regional support needs.
