Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC in Nashville seeks a Senior Preconstruction Manager - Mechanical to act as the mechanical SME across regions, guiding budgets, procurement strategy, and vendor relations. You will support pursuits and projects with expert budgeting and market insights.

You will partner with regional teams to validate scope and pricing, develop conceptual budgets, train the team in estimating best practices, and maintain historical cost data for accurate future estimates.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical estimating, subcontracting, or mechanical preconstruction.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical systems, installation methods, and production rates.
• Strong vendor communication skills and market knowledge in mechanical trades.
• Experience developing conceptual/schematic budgets for large projects.
• Ability to organize historical cost data and benchmarking metrics.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the internal mechanical SME, supporting pursuits and projects.
• Develop conceptual and schematic-level budgets to support early pursuit strategy.
• Validate mechanical scope, pricing assumptions, and risk on large projects.
• Refine procurement strategies including trade packaging and RFP development.
• Advise on market conditions, production rates, vendor capabilities and buyout.
• Grow relationships with mechanical trade partners and vendors company-wide.
• Develop and deliver internal training on mechanical systems and budgeting.
• Capture and maintain historical cost data and benchmarking metrics.
• Participate in project and estimate reviews as a mechanical advisor.
• Stay current on costs, systems, codes, technologies and market trends.
• Travel may be necessary depending on project and regional needs.
