Qualifications

• 10+ years in mechanical estimating, preconstruction, or subcontracting.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical systems, installation methods, and production rates.
• Strong vendor market knowledge and relationships.
• Experience developing conceptual/schematic budgets for large projects.
• Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office.
• Self-directed, department-wide resource rather than single-project focus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as internal mechanical SME for preconstruction across projects.
• Develop conceptual/schematic budgets to support early pursuits and feasibility studies.
• Validate mechanical scope, pricing, and risk on large/high-risk projects.
• Refine procurement strategies including trade packaging and RFP assistance.
• Advise on mechanical market conditions, production rates, and buyout strategy.
• Grow relationships with mechanical trade partners and vendors company-wide.
• Develop and deliver internal training on mechanical systems and budgeting.
• Capture and maintain historical cost data and benchmarking metrics.
• Participate in project and estimate reviews as mechanical advisor.
• Stay current on mechanical costs, systems, codes, and market trends.
• Travel may be necessary depending on project needs.
