Job summary
Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Redondo Beach, CA, seeks a Principal Mechanical Ground Support Equipment Engineer to join the team in person. The role emphasizes designing MGSE, drafting in 3D CAD, and performing initial structural analyses to support space hardware integration and test in clean rooms.
The position requires a STEM degree with relevant experience and active Top Secret/SCI clearance. A 9/80 work schedule is offered along with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science in STEM or Masters in STEM with related engineering experience.
- Experience in multi-disciplinary teams, especially IT&L or Manufacturing environments.
- ASME Y14.5 GD&T experience and basic structural analysis.
Responsibilities
- Design and modeling in 3D CAD software.
- Drafting and GD&T per Y14.5 standards.
- Support fabrication at vendors including inspection and testing.
- End-user support during integration operations.
- Develop and present design reviews and technical documentation.
- Drive alignment across program functions to meet deadlines.
