Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Redondo Beach, CA seeks a Principal Mechanical Ground Support Equipment Engineer (MGSE) to join our team onsite. You will design, analyze, and draft MGSE hardware for space hardware integration and test in clean room environments.

Responsibilities include design reviews, 3D modeling, GD&T drafting, supplier fabrication support, and end-user support during integration operations, with a focus on first-time quality and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science in STEM with 5+ years related engineering experience OR Masters with 3+ years in STEM.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary IT&L or Manufacturing environments.
• ASME Y14.5 experience required.
• First order structural analysis experience required.
• Experience with MGSE design.
• PDR and CDR development knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design and modeling in 3D CAD software.
• Drafting using Y14.5 GD&T.
• Fabrication support at vendors including acceptance testing and inspection.
• End-user support during integration operations.
• Develop conceptual design and requirements definitions.
• Develop and present design reviews.
• Perform initial structural analysis of materials.
• Create proof load diagrams and address non-conformances.
• Develop and optimize integration & test process flows.
